New Youth and Young Adult Minister

From Aidan:

Hello, my name is Aidan Powell. I am the new Youth Minister for St. Augustine Parish! I am the eldest son of two teachers, Dean and Allison Powell. I grew up with my twin and two younger brothers on an acreage outside St. Walburg, Saskatchewan. I enjoy playing sports, especially volleyball and basketball, boardgames, cheering on the Raptors, Jays, and Roughriders, and spending time with family and friends.

I graduated from Paradise Hill School in the spring of 2020 and then moved to Saskatoon to attend the University of Saskatchewan for Nursing. I soon transferred into the combined Kinesiology Education program for the following school year.

In the summer of 2021, I volunteered for Face2Face ministries Ignite Summer Camp. During this week, I was introduced to St. Therese Institute of Faith and Formation. I completed the first and second-year faith formation program in the spring of 2023. While at St. Therese Institute, I fell in love with Jesus, grew in my prayer life, learned about God and His Church, and made lifelong friends.

Currently, I am pursuing a bachelor's degree in theology through the Atlantic School of Theology in Halifax (AST). I hope to teach, work in young adult faith formation, and continue my post-secondary education toward this goal.

On June 8th of this year, my fiancé Carolyne and I are getting married! We have been very blessed by the St. Augustine Parish community but are still fairly new.
